Teacher Led Games in the Playground: An Action Research Study

The purpose of this study was to determine if teacher led games in the playground would increase the inclusiveness of students with special needs amongst their peers. Research supports the use of passive playground practices to increase the effective inclusion of students with special needs during mainstream play time. During this action research, students were able to participate in games in the playground along with their peers in a safe and inclusive environment. Findings showed that teacher led games were not only beneficial for students with special needs but many other children in the playground
