The Collaborative Space

Another vital element to this project is the collaborative space. It needs to take place within the classroom where students will work and learn together, but even more importantly it needs to be a space where influential leaders of each community come together to develop plans to ensure that compassion and understanding is practiced by all stakeholders.  Inevitably this accommodation will enable the education of all students to be a positive, effective and successful endeavour.

Stakeholders need to

  • Work together to develop plans and policies to create a sustainable space.

  • Negotiate to ensure all parties are respected and equal.

  • Consider all parities’ needs and cultural background when making decisions.

  • Liaise with organisations to ensure continued funding and volunteer support.

  • Liaise with the community to promote support and acceptance.

Communities and stakeholders need to work in partnership to find solutions for

  • Decreasing cultural bias.

  •  Dispelling fears about disease.

  • Eliminating negativity and conjecture.

  • Increasing acceptance.

  • Educating each other about values and beliefs.

  • Creating conversations that are positive and progressive.

  • Providing and improving positive interactions.

With this achieved, the positive attitudes and strategies that are developed and implemented will allow the communities to move forward together towards an equally beneficial future.

As part of the collaborative space an open day and welcoming ceremony will be conducted on the first day of school in the new space.
